School

Well, so much for starting in August. I'm actually starting March 31st! Aahh! My admissions officer (who is absolutely wonderful by the way) called me and said she found a scholarship for me and it was mine as long as I could start on the 31st. So a meeting later here I am ready to start in about 10 days. I'm super excited and a little overwhelmed. The worst part about starting so early is that I'm not gonna get to watch my baseball games like I had planned. oh well! This is better than being a couch potato!

What a great week!

I finally did it. I enrolled in school to get my pastry degree! Woohoo! I'll start in August and can't wait! I'm so excited! I keep looking over the classes I get to take and wow. Overwhelming but awesome!

I also met Dale Murphy today. Super cool! He's such a nice guy. I wish I could have talked to him a little more but oh well. I'm sure I'll talk to him again. I was so happy afterwards I told everyone I saw that I got to meet him. Everyone thought I was crazy, but hey, maybe I am. DALE MURPHY! Ha!!

Woohoo!!!

Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman. Once there was a snowman...that would never go away.

Now it's finally melting, melting, melting. Now he's finally melting. (Woohoo). I hate snow in every way.

Ok, so that's not how the song goes but it is today...I HATE the snow, but...

The sun is shining and the snow is melting. Happy day!!!!

The Love of God

Today I attended the viewing of President Hinckley. It was such an awesome experience. The minute I entered the conference center I felt the spirit. It was quiet and everyone was so reverent. There was an organist playing hymns as we walked through the conference center. President Hinckley was in the Hall of Presidents lying peacefully. He is such a wonderful man. I was consumed by happiness and love along with a twinge of sadness. There were flowers all around and messages on the flowers from family and friends. My favorite were those from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I over heard Conference center workers saying that between 2000 and 3000 people were there every hour and they expected the number to double later in the day. What would it be like to be loved like that?! How amazing! Even while writing this I get teary-eyed. My testimony has become stronger today of the love that God has for all of us. I clearly felt it today.

President Hinckley

Beloved prophet, President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away last night. It's been so sad but wonderful at the same time. Of course, he will be deeply missed but he has been reunited with his wife at long last. He missed her so much. I'm sure it was a joyous occasion. My testimony of the church continues to grow stonger knowing that it's not the end of the church, but a start of a different era for the church. It'll be weird not to see or hear from President Hinckley this next conference as we have for so many years, but it will be so wonderful to gain the same type of love for future prophets and apostles.

The sun

The sun is shinning! It's gorgeous outside (for winter in Utah). I never realized how much I loved the sun until I didn't see it for days at a time. I love it!

P.S. I Love You

So on New Year's Day I went to see P.S. I Love You. It was great! I actually saw it twice that day. I went once with my friend Julia and my favorite cousin was supposed to meet us there. She didn't end up making it but still wanted to see it. So I got out of the first show just in time to drop off my friend and be back at the movie theater to meet Tiff and see the movie one more time. I'm glad I liked it the first time. It made me cry both times though! It's definately a chick-flick!
